megan glaros, cbs news, chicago. >>> well, president obama and the first lady leave today to attend if memorial for nelson mandela in south africa. it will be one of the largest gatherings of the national dignitaries in years. alphonso van marsh is in south africa with a preview. alphonso, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, anne-marie. as you mentioned authorities are rushing to prepare for that massive memorial that will be held tomorrow at the stadium. now, that stadium holds some 95,000 people, but authorities are bracing to see a whole lot more. south africans are preparing for public services for nelson mandela this week. president obama leaves this morning for johannesburg where he'll attend tomorrow's massive public memorial. former presidents bush, clinton, and carter will also be in attendance along with 50 heads of state, making it one of the world's largest gathers in recent history. >> this is a test for us. >> reporter: the national task force says the country is prepared for keeping so many dignitaries safe. 11,000 soldiers have been set in place around the country
